(she/her)
I am a doula, artist, and yoga teacher, residing in the high desert of New Mexico, in Santa Fe, Ogap'oge, unceded, occupied land of the Tewa speaking people.
I found my way into birth work after becoming a mother myself, I realized what amazing potential this phase of life has for our personal growth as well as the evolution of our planet. I believe that every family bringing their children into the world deserves to be listened to deeply and supported to have the kind of birth that is right for them. I was called to this work, to be in community with others as we reclaim sovereignty over our own bodies and narratives. Women and birthing peoples need to be prioritized and held with the level of respect and honor that they deserve, this is not proufound, its basic. I know that through this journey to parenthood there is incredible potential for growth and healing. There is power and vulnerability in pregnancy that can lead us to a new understanding of ourselves. We do the inner work and society changes. We do the social work and change the culture, we help the world to evolve. We deserve better. We demand better.
I began attending births in a midwestern town where I was the only doula and the only prenatal yoga teacher, so I listened and learned from other mothers. I trained as a birth doula through Birth Arts International and later as a full-spectrum doula through Yiya Vi Kagingdi Doula Project of Tewa Women United. I continue to learn something new from each family that I have the honor to work with. I am also a 500hr Certified Yoga Teacher, a Birth Art Mentor and a Cetified Lactation Counselor.
As a yoga teacher and artist, I am interested in exploring birth through art, movement, and self-reflective practice.
As your doula, my role is to help you explore the landscape of your own ideas, feelings, and conditioning around your reproductive choices. I encourage you to listen to your own wild heart, which means trusting yourself. You are the keeper of incredible wisdom and intuition. I believe that moving slowly is important medicine for the times in which we are living, it is crucial that we slow down and listen to what is best for ourselves and then choose it, choose it above all the other noise. I encourage you to surround yourself with a loving support team, to ask questions, take time to do research, and really listen to your own inner knowing.
My care is personalized for each family. I offer physical, emotional, spiritual, and educational support, I will also help to connect you to the many amazing resources in our community.
